Marketing Director - Top Teen Social Networking/Virtual World Site
Title: Marketing Director
Location: South Bay (San Francisco Bay Area)
Salary: To mid 100's (DOE) + stock
A rapidly growing, teen oriented social networking site that is expanding its virtual world, is seeking a Marketing Director to lead the overall marketing efforts for the company. The Marketing Director will manage acquisition and retention marketing efforts, to drive traffic and membership enrollments to the site. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, the Marketing Director will manage a team of talented marketing managers who will bring the company's strategy to life in the marketplace and continue to expand the company's site.
Responsibilities:
* Drive acquisition and retention marketing efforts designed to drive Web site traffic and enrollments
* Direct interactive marketing, public relations, viral marketing and social media campaigns to meet business performance objectives
* Hire, manage and mentor marketing team members
* Track and analyze results, providing reporting and recommendations for future marketing communications programs
* Work with the PR Manger to set the public relations strategy and direct the PR agency with the goal of raising company awareness in trade, consumer and business publications; online in key industry websites and individual bloggers, and at industry events
Requirements:
* More than eight years of online marketing experience, with a minimum of two years in a senior management role
* Someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment
* Strategic thinker with good judgment and solid decision-making skills
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
* Knowledge of virtual goods/virtual worlds a plus
* Demonstrated leadership, team-building and team-management skills and a proven ability to motivate staff
* Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
